This is kind of an ad, so don't read it.

I was recently interviewed by Ting. They did a profile on my voice and data usage to show how even heavy users can save money with their program. I told Michael Goldstein (VP Marketing), that I wished Tucows (Ting's parent company) would open a grocery store - because they are so open and easy to work with that I want to deal with them for *everything*.

Some of you might be aware that I'm not overly fond of wireless carriers, so they might just seem great in comparison, but I had a quick question the other day, and when I called Ting customer support, the call was answered before the third ring, by a person who answered my question. While I was thanking him and saying goodbye, he realized that I might still be having a problem, asked me to stay on the phone with him for a minute while he helped me fix it, and proceeded to do so. A few minutes later, I got an email follow-up that not only made sure I knew how to get more help if I needed it, but included some personal comments about making sure I didn't have any more troubles while "out on the road". That's class.

Here's my referral link so you can sign up and get a credit for you and for me.

And btw, Tucows also runs Hover. I posted on Facebook that I didn't have a referral link to Hover but when I posted here it occurred to me to check. If you want domain names, that's the place to go!

With a major carrier the phone might seem free, but with Ting - *I'm* free!

I don't post to this blog much anymore but if you want to keep up with my misadventures you can follow me on Facebook.
